Safety is Part of Our Culture

Our Commitment to Safety

Andron’s safety goal is zero accidents. We feel morally obligated to provide a safe construction site for everyone who must work in it or travel through it. We are family-owned and operated for over 50 years, and we have always regarded our employees as part of our family – their safety is of utmost importance to us. Our attention to safe work practices has produced an excellent record of low incidents and low time loss. It has also qualified us for membership in a captive insurance program, where we have been enrolled since 2010.

Our Chief Operations Officer is our Safety Officer. Top management, including the COO, contracts administrator, insurance coordinator, and self-perform division head, meet each year with our captive insurance provider and safety consultants to review our safety performance and identify areas for improvement. The COO uses this data to select topics for our quarterly safety meetings attended by all field managers, supervisors, engineers, and company trade workers. Attention to safety starts at the top and permeates through the entire company.

We believe that safety and quality go hand-in-hand. Over 25 years ago, Andron management determined to improve safety performance, and instituted the ZERO ACCIDENTS goal and promised safety as a high priority. Concrete, measurable standards reflected in Andron employees and subcontractors’ performance evaluations have evolved into the comprehensive programs and policies that Andron deploys today. Safety is the first message received when a worker arrives on site. Our standards are practiced and reinforced daily and weekly through job site inspections and toolbox talks quarterly through off-site team safety training and collaboration, and annually through our captive insurance program review and evaluation.

Our Record

In almost 10 years, we have logged over 1 MILLION HOURS worked, with ZERO LOST DAYS or reportable incidents to Andron workers.

Safety is critical to a successful project. Safety does not happen by chance but occurs through attention to safe practices both in and around the construction site. Andron’s people bring their safety experience and safety enthusiasm to every project. The proof is in the results. Andron’s attention to safety is evidenced by our 07/01/2023 EMR of 0.68, and our excellent record of low incidents and low loss of time.
